Let's take a listen to the Jabra Speak 510. We have two recordings for the speakerphone. One if hardwired with USB 2.0 and one is using Bluetooth. Can you tell the difference in Quality?

As you can tell there is  huge difference in quality which is compounded the larger the room and the harder the microphone has to work. Now let's talk about the alternative technology 2.4 GHz. 2.4GHz is the widely used wireless bandwidth used for WiFi and the FCC has certified this band to accept interference meaning you can have donzens of WiFi (2.4GHz) signals in the same relative area with out a problem. The main difference is the fact that no pairing needs to be done. With 2.4GHz speakerphones such as the HuddlePod Air below you only need to plug in a USB 2.0 wireless receiver into the computer you want to use and the speakerphone will automatically be selected in your web conferencing service. Now the immediate downfall here is that you cannot use this technology with a Smart Phone. So therefore you cannot simply connect your smart phone to a 2.4 GHz speakerphone the way you can with a bluetooth speakerphone and simply make a phone call. But the up side is no bluetooth pairing. So if you are setting up a web conferencing room where you want minimal IT support a 2.4 GHz speakerphone should provide higher quality experience with less IT support.
